Yesterday, I noted that I had finished chapter one of Gideon's story, The Darkest Lie, and that I wasn't sure I'd started in the right place. I'm still not, and sadly, I don't get to forge ahead today and kinda test the waters. But I'll be back at my desk tomorrow, however, and will let you know how it goes. Right now, it just . . . lacks something. Maybe I'll dream the solution :) I love when I do that.
Beginnings are SO HARD! I'm on about the fifteenth version of my first few chapters, but I think I'm finally on the right track. LOL

I agree. We all want that zinger beginning! Once I write "the end" I always go back and rewrite a bit on the beginning.

I admire anyone that can sit down and write a book. Even writing a small entry on my blog often feels like quite a bit for me. Technical writing (the kind that I generally do for my doctoral program) seems to come so much easier than fiction. I envy that ability. Good luck! I think it's easier when the weather isn't so nice to be cooped up inside!
